Breaking Ground on a New Modern E9-1-1 Emergency Operations Center
Red River Parish to construct a next-generation consolidated dispatch facility in partnership with Sheriff Glen Edwards and the Red River Parish Police Jury.
The Red River Parish Communications District is pleased to announce the groundbreaking of a new, state-of-the-art E9-1-1 Emergency Operations Center. The project represents a collaborative effort between the Communications District, Sheriff Glen Edwards, and Red River Parish Police Jury.
Sheriff Edwards has committed to incorporating the new E9-1-1 Emergency Operations Center within his portion of a broader parish building project. The facility will replace the current E9-1-1 operations center, which is housed in a jail control room at the Red River Parish Jail, and will deliver the modern infrastructure, technology and software necessary to bring emergency communications into the next generation.
"On behalf of the Red River Parish Communications District Board of Commissioners, I would like to thank Sheriff Glen Edwards, James Moseley, Troy Murray and each of the Red River Parish Police Jurors for incorporating a new, innovative Next-Generation E9-1-1 Emergency Operations Center into this building project. This new facility will enhance 9-1-1 emergency response services across Red River Parish with expanded space for call handling, dispatching, and training, along with advanced technology, improved security, and better accessibility for all citizens and visitors. The consolidated center will serve all emergency agencies across the parish, including the Sheriff's Office, Fire District, EMS, Police Departments, and the Office of Emergency Preparedness."

Key Facility Upgrades
The new Emergency Operations Center will introduce critical capabilities that are not feasible within the current space-constrained environment.
Emergency Medical Dispatch
Plans are being made to incorporate and provide new EMD Services through the E9-1-1 Emergency Operations Center. EMD is a highly structured, protocol-driven process designed to provide rapid, appropriate emergency medical response and life-saving instructions over the phone. The upgraded facility will provide adequate space for an additional 9-1-1 operator who can help facilitate and handle emergency medical calls while emergency responders are en route. Due to space constraints in the current facility, offering this critical service has not been previously feasible.
Training Workstation
An additional training workstation dedicated to operator development, certification, and ongoing professional education for 9-1-1 dispatchers.
Expanded Operations
A properly designed and spaced environment built to handle emergency situations effectively and support future operational growth for Next-Generation 9-1-1 technology.
